Accounts are only available to persons authorised under the Compulsory dog microchipping 2016 and the Microchipping of Cats and Dogs Law 2023 (England), namely police officers, veterinary practices, animal wardens, local authorities and animal rescue centres authorised by their local authority.
Every account application is checked and verified before access is granted and then reviewed on a regular basis. Check a Chip account holders will be able to see extended details about pets and their keepers when doing a microchip search if supported by the database holding the relevant records.
